Our firm won a groundbreaking $67 million jury verdict – including $35 million in punitive damages – against TD Bank, one of the 10 largest banks in the country. We represented two groups of victims of the Scott Rothstein/TD Bank Ponzi scheme. The first case in history to hold a bank liable for aiding and abetting fraud, the Coquina Investments case was the largest federal verdict in Florida in 2012, and the 37th largest state or federal verdict in the country. As a result of that landmark verdict, which was affirmed on appeal, TD Bank settled almost all of the other pending cases brought by the fraud victims. We also obtained a $41 million dollar settlement from TD Bank for our other client Emess Capital LLC.
